Mira Costa School - The Lost Temple

by  on April 8, 2014 in Letters From Cambodia
Yesterday started out at 4 in the morning.  We were to go to a Buddhist temple and experience the sunrise.  When we arrived to my surprise there were throngs of people even at 5 in the morning.  But it was completely worth it seeing the beautiful sunrise over the temple.  After the sunrise we were able to explore the temple it was absolutely gorgeous even though it was crumbling.  There were so many rooms and chambers and just imagining how it was back when it was in use.  It really disappointed me how touristy the temple has become.  But later in the day we were able to visit another temple in the jungle were it was much more peaceful and calm.  This is also where many of the monks lived.  It was very interesting to see how the monks lived, how simple there lives are, and how much dedication they have.
