Mira Costa School - The Remembrance of the Past

by  on April 4, 2014 in Letters From Cambodia
Yesterday I had a very enlightening experience because I was able meet a survivor one  of the seven survivors of torture Toulslang Prison. He shared his very scary but interesting story with us of what Khmer Rouge did to him and how he was one of the seven that survived. The way in which he survived was by being the only one to have the skill to fix type writers. The reason why his skill was so import was because the Khmer Rouge wanted to doucment and record everything thing they were doing, without this machine they couldn’t do any of that. But this did not stop them from torturing and interrogating him for information. This really moved me and brought a realization how horrible the Khmer Rouge was and that it was almost on the scale and magnitude of the Holocaust.
